Starting PPC Marketing Step 1

As many of you know, I left my position as a publisher manager at a CPA affiliate network a couple months ago.  I did this to pursue a career in investments, along with part time publishing.  Through numerous years of website building, SEO, and SEM, I’ve learned a thing or two which enable me to make anywhere from $300-$600/month EXTRA is profits from PPC.  Below are a few steps which are crucial to anyone looking to start PPC publishing.

1. Buy several domain names. Niche specific.  You will use these domains to drive traffic from Google.  Since Google no longer accepts direct linking for affiliates, the easiest way to keep bid costs down is to make a “microsite”.  (Microsite – site in which you place several affiliate offers on, with a brief description of each, review styled descriptions or special bonus descriptions to up sell the consumer)

2. Get tracking software.  Without tracking software, you’ll have no idea what is making you money, and what is costing you money.  There are numerous tracking platforms out there, both premium and free.  For beginners to intermediate users, check out tracking202.com and prosper202.com.  They are the same software, but the difference is that prosper202.com is the self-hosted version of the software.  Buy a shared server here Host Monster they offer excellent prices, about $6/month, and even give you a FREE domain name with purchase.  This will be perfect since you’ll need a domain to route your redirects through, (more on this part later but for now, simply click here and buy the hosting package).  Again the software is 100% free, so your cost is $6/month. You’ll make this back in your first day or two.

3. Open accounts at PPC networks like Google, Yahoo, MSN. The cost to open an account is usually $5.  They do this to ensure you are giving them a valid credit card. ($100 Credit to Yahoo, $50 Credit to Google, $50 Credit to Ask.com – Free Bonus Credits)

4. Sign up with a couple affiliate networks. My network of choice is MarketLeverage.
